check out our other band! [04 Aug 2008|05:57pm]
Some other music from members of The Adored:

Drew, Max and Nat (and our friend Ron) have started a summer side project.

The LA heat wave, earthquakes, gas prices and old age have forced our doctors to tell us to take a break from loud and fast punk rock, so we're returning to a quieter, gentler, sunnier time with GOLDEN YEARS.

It's a new profile with new songs and a more retro kind of sound, so let us know what you think!

Happy Summer! [20 Jul 2007|10:30pm]
[ mood | optimistic ]

Livejournal just reminded us that I last updated 23 weeks ago so thought I'd stop by and let you know we're still here. We've been busy writing tons of new songs and we just recorded 4 of them that we can't wait for you to hear.

Are you guys on facebook? If so there's an "Adored" group out there that you should join. Facebook rules. Nat literally updates his page everytime he does anything so if you're ever wondering what he is specifically doing at any given moment... Anyway, join our group and leave messages on our wall and send us gifts. My favorite is the flying ninja one. Ok, it's really the chipmunk holding a strawberry.

Ohhhh yeah our pre-Sunset Junction show at Spaceland with BUZZCOCKS sold out in 20 minutes so hope you got tix... Rumor has it that 50 tickets were held to sell at the door the night of the show but the line will be worse than the iphone and the Phantom Menace lines put together so bring a sleeping bag.

U Guyz R EZ 2 Luv,
Max

Ryans Bday! Back in LA! DJing at Club Bang! Sept Tour! [05 Aug 2006|01:41pm]
Hey lovers!

Well, we've just come off of our two-month North American jaunt with the legendary BUZZCOCKS, the Strays, sometimes Lola Ray, and a few select Warped Tour dates... and as you can see, although we hate to admit it, we're a tiny bit exhausted...

But give us a few hours and we'll be fully recharged, because it's a big day here in LA for us.

First of all, thanks to everyone who came to see us, discovered us, enjoyed our shows, took pictures with us, met us by accident in Olive Gardens, never met us and bought out new album A NEW LANGUAGE, never met us but liked our songs on Myspace, never heard of us... we love you all! We had a great time on the road and we can't wait to come back to your city.

Now that we're home, we've got a lot going on this month. So far we've got TWO shows lined up at CLUB MOSCOW (www.myspace.com/clubmoscow) in Hollywood - one show this Wednesday night and again at the end of the month (9 August and 23 August.)

Then we're happy to be particpating in sweet dude Sean's yearly F--K YEAH FEST! IN Echo Park, LA... with bands like Midnight Movies, Wires on Fire, Icarus Line and more... we'll be playing the Echo on August 20th.

There will definitely be more to come- working on more all ages shows in the OC , SD and the Valley etc... and maybe a few out of state trips! Then next month, more LA party fun (like September 5th at CHECK YO' PONYTAIL in Hollywood) and then another mini-tour with musical superhero BUTCH WALKER and our new buddies DAMONE!

*****************************************************

BUT FIRST OF ALL, ALL SHOWS ASIDE- WE HAVE TO SAY- A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR OWN TELEVISION RYAN!!!!!!

Show your love and affection with a comment or message for Ryan... or come celebrate with us at our homecoming RECORD RELEASE PARTY at CLUB BANG tonight in Hollywood!! We'll be giving out some stuff, dancing with you and tearing it up around midnight...

Don't forget to wish Ryan a Happy Birthday!

Oh look, all that excitement made us forget how tired we were from touring! Ok, now we're ready to do it again! see ya tonight!

xoxo

A New Language [19 Jul 2006|05:50pm]
Our new record came out last week. You can buy it at real stores as well as e-stores. LA friends can find it anywhere. Amoeba, Tower, literally anywhere. If there isnt a copy displayed in the new Rock/Pop section ask an employee. You can buy it virtually on itunes and amazon and smartpunk and probably everywhere else. There's still a promo thing going on at towerrecords.com where you can get an autographed copy.

Warped Tour next week then we meet back up with Buzzcocks in the Northwest for the remainder of their US tour. Check us out in Portland, Seattle and then over the border in Vancouver and Victoria, BC.

LA shows are being confirmed for August. A few Club Moscow shows are already booked as well as the 3rd annual Fuck Yeah Fest curated by Keith Morris. Probably a headline show at Knitting Factory too. Check our myspace page for up to dates.

We're in a hotel in Denver on a day off. Nat and Drew performed a tear-jerking rendition of the Bel Biv Devoe classic "Poison" last night at a post-show karoake party. Band trip to the movies tonight to see Pirates of the Caribbean. Wish u were here.

Our aim is improving,
The Adored

Dearests,

2 new songs posted for your streaming pleasure in our MP3 section over at our Myspace page (mypace.com/theadored) - "Could it Be" and "The Window". We'll be swapping out with a new track off our debut album each week until it comes out. We'll be playing a handful of these songs live on our upcoming tours so learn the words and sing along.

Brand new song posted! [14 Feb 2006|12:29pm]

We're happy to announce that in the spirit of today's pagan celebrations, we are showing our love for friends and fans with a Myspace-only gift.

We've just posted the first track off our upcoming LP "A New Language".
The song is called "Tell Me Tell Me."

For those of you who have seen us live, this is the first song we ever wrote together and the only one we've played at EVERY SINGLE Adored show- so you may recognize it. For the rest of you, here it is - feel free to download and check it out!

Also, we've noticed Myspace won't let you download "TV Riot", our 2005 release featuring Pete Shelley from Buzzcocks- so if you want to add it to your collections, you can still get it at our website.  We're also working on putting fan favorite "She's a Boy" up for download there as well.

Pay attention, British kids- you have exactly two weeks to learn our lyrics (clickable on our Myspace page) so you can sing along with us on our two-week tour of Southern Britain with BUZZCOCKS!  For more colonial punters, our other upcoming shows include LA's SPACELAND on the 27th and then the SXSW MUSIC FESTIVAL in Austin, circa March 15.

Lots of stuff coming up- check our page and future bulletins for news about vinyl, merch, American tours and, of course, our album release!

xoxoxo

Art Brut on Friday at the Echo [16 Nov 2005|11:48am]

Fri 11.18.05: ART BRUT @ THE ECHO

They are, perhaps, Park Life-era Blur without the preening and sneering; the Fall for beginners, Pulp for a new disenfranchised generation, with a taste of Magazine's feline tension and a wallop of Nirvana's anthemic surge. Most of all, they are absolutely nothing but Art Brut. They are also coolly uncool, the latest in a shambolic line of chroniclers of an unloved and otherwise unheralded England that includes such cults and obscurities as Band of Holy Joy, King of the Slums and Half Man, Half Biscuit. - David Peschek, The Guardian
